All too often we get bogged down with the frustrations and disappointments associated with childrearing and/or a child's disability. Friends and strangers can't appreciate the "small steps" that mean giant victories for our children. Here is an opportunity for you to share your child's accomplishments.

Child Care

It is never easy to entrust your child to the care of a stranger. It is especially difficult when your child has a disability. Many of our families struggle to find caregivers willing to take on the responsibility. There are very few opportunities for respite in the area. What advice can you share with parents about where to find responsible caregivers?

Community Outings

Taking children into the community is no small feat for any parent, but for some of our families it seems next to impossible. Safety and inappropriate behavior are the primary concerns, but some families are also struggling to find activities their child will enjoy. How have you addressed safety issues and problem behaviors? What community activities does your child like to participate in? How do you make it fun for your child?

Food Related Issues

Food issues seem to be one of the biggest frustrations for parents of our preschoolers. Many of our children are extremely picky eaters, and some of the children are on special diets. A few of our families have sought advice from specialists at a feeding clinic. Share your experiences, frustrations, and success stories.

Sleeping Issues
